Indium Corporation Expert to Host 5G Connectivity Webinar | Electronics Maker

Indium Corporation’s Jenny Gallery,Product Specialist, will host a webinar focused on gold-based thermal solutions for 5G connectivity. There will be two sessionon Wednesday, Aug. 5, during International Microwave Symposium’s (IMS) virtual conference. The first session will be heldat 8 a.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. British Time/8 p.m. Malaysia Time), with the second at 2 p.m. Eastern Time (7 p.m. British Time/2 a.m., Aug. 6, Malaysia Time).

As a successor to 4G, the 5G connectivity network is sure to not only transform technology as we know it, but also provide an entirely new mobile experience for every user. However, with the development of new technologies, new challenges are sure to follow. The highspeed and bandwidth needed within the 5G connectivity network result in two common issues facing companies that are producing this mobile technology: controlling thermal management of and maintaining strong solder joints in the hardware. In her webinar 5G Connectivity: Challenges and Gold Solutions, Gallery will discuss the challenges and present solutions that can improve the thermal transfer of high-output lasers, as well as solve the weak joint issue on the gold-rich substrate of gallium nitride (GaN) dies.
