The Microwave Vision Group (MVG) and Anritsu Corporation are pleased to announce a new solution supporting IEEE 802.11ax 6 GHz band (Wi-Fi 6E) OTA measurements by combining an MVG multi-probe system and Anritsu’s MT8862A Wireless Connectivity Test Set.
The 6 GHz band in the 802.11ax standard is the first new frequency band for about 20 years. As an unlicensed band, it supports a bandwidth of 1200 MHz up to 7.125 GHz with 160 MHz channels for high data throughput. First use of the unlicensed 6 GHz band started in the USA as a result of collaboration between the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and leading technology companies and there is a worldwide movement to adopt and use this band, with many countries already in operation.
Assuring product RF performance quality is a new challenge in using the 6 GHz band efficiently. OTA measurements and RF performance checks help solve this challenge to support products with stable performance and faster speeds for better customer satisfaction.
Product Outline
MVG multi-probe OTA test systems equipped with an Anritsu MT8862A support an effective, simple, and stable test environment for RF evaluation of the new Wi-Fi 6 spectrum extension, Wi-Fi 6E.
MVG multi-probe systems are suited to measure antennas and perform OTA testing of wireless devices of all sizes. Delivering ultra-fast results, MVG multi-probe systems enable 3D visualization of antenna radiation patterns of devices under test through a fast electronic scan of its probe array. Using only a single axis azimuth positioner, it minimizes scattering caused by the positioning system, resulting in more accurate measurements. The product line ranges from compact portable test systems to particular measurement solutions that accommodate very heavy DUTs. MVG multi-probe systems, including a majority of those previously installed, can be associated with the MT8862A and thus support OTA measurements of the 6 GHz IEEE 802.11ax band (Wi-Fi 6E). Anritsu’s MT8862A Wireless Connectivity Test Set is the only all-in-one test solution for WLAN RF measurements supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, and the 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz frequency bands with 160 MHz channel bandwidths. With its stable wide-dynamic-range communications, it is the ideal OTA measurement solution.
